The Challenge
The Getty Research Institute invited Amazonian/Brazilian artist Denilson Baniwa to challenge European representations of the Americas through video artworks, murals, and installations. The digital experience needed to carry that artistic intent beyond the physical exhibition and across languages.
Our Role
Heroic partnered with the Getty Research Institute on the digital exhibition. The artistic work is Baniwa’s; the museum exhibition and scholarship belong to the Getty and its collaborators.
What We Delivered
- A digital exhibition experience built around the artwork and its context.
- The full online experience translated into English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
- Targeted digital campaigns supporting the exhibition’s reach.
The Result
The digital exhibition made the work available beyond the museum in three languages. The wider exhibition received coverage from Forbes, the Los Angeles Times, Spectrum News, and the Beverly Press.
